What is the difference between Vectorworks Architect and Design?
Architect covers building modelling and documentation. Design is the full suite: Architect plus the Landmark tools for site and landscape work and the Spotlight tools for entertainment and lighting design. If your work stays inside the building envelope, Architect is the one.
Which Vectorworks release should I buy?
Files open forwards but not backwards, so buy at least the newest release anyone sends you. If you work alone or inside a closed office, an older release draws exactly the same building and costs less than half. Architect 2020 is €3,000 here against €6,260 for 2026.
Will a 2ndhand licence keep receiving new versions?
No, and that is the trade. A perpetual licence is permanent for the release you buy, not a path to future ones. Upgrades come from the publisher's own service plan. Most buyers here are matching a release to the work in front of them rather than chasing the newest one.
Is a transferred Vectorworks licence legally valid?
Yes. Perpetual software licences may be lawfully resold within the EU once distribution rights are exhausted, under ECJ Case C-128/11 and Directive 2009/24/EC Article 4(2). Every transfer we complete follows publisher terms, the previous owner ceases use, and you receive the documentation.
