Description
What's New in Vectorworks Architect 2023
Vectorworks Architect 2023 concentrated on giving designers back time on repetitive tasks, headlined by a new way to place windows and doors and a more capable BIM collaboration workflow.
- Click-and-drag fenestration: Doors and windows can now be created by simply drawing a rectangle across a wall face in 3D or a line across an opening in 2D, then adjusted interactively afterward.
- BCF Manager as a web palette: The BIM Collaboration Format manager now runs as a persistent web palette supporting the BCF 3.0 standard, connecting directly to cloud-based coordination platforms.
- Graphics Legends: A new tool automatically links object types to drawing legends, removing a long-standing manual step in documentation.
- Offset Edge push/pull modeling: A new modeling tool supports push/pull operations on non-planar faces while retaining full modeling history, useful for complex forms like curved steps.
- Rendering: Shaded Render Mode was upgraded to support an unlimited number of light sources, environmental lighting, and reflections for real-time, high-fidelity previews.
- Site & data workflows: New Site Modifier grading modes (Aligned, Pathway Path, Boundary Path) and expanded reporting for walls, slabs, roofs, and railing/fence components round out the release.
