The short answer

3 reasons to buy Camtek 2ndhand

A PEPS seat is married to your machines through its post processors. Lose the licence and the pairing goes with it, along with every programme built on it.

What PEPS does

Programming for the wire

A fine brass wire descending through a submerged steel plate

Wire erosion first

PEPS is best known for wire EDM, where the programming problem is not a toolpath but a taper, a corner strategy and a set of cutting conditions that suit the material and the thickness. Tool and die shops keep it because it handles the four-axis work that general CAM systems treat as an afterthought.

Turning and milling on the same seat

The line also covers turning and milling, so a shop that erodes, turns and mills does not have to keep three programming systems and three sets of posts alive. Which modules a particular seat carries is the thing to establish before you buy, because on CAM the name tells you very little.

The process

How a Camtek transfer works

The same four steps every time.

1

Share details

Which modules you need and which machines and controls the posts have to serve.

2

We check

Availability, module scope, eligibility and paperwork, before you pay anything.

3

We transfer

Reassigned under publisher terms. The previous owner deactivates and ceases use.

4

Complete

The seat is registered in your own name. Keep the documentation for audits.

FAQ

Camtek PEPS questions

Do you have a Camtek licence in stock?

Not on the site at this moment. PEPS licences reach us when a tool or die shop closes or changes system, which is irregular. Tell us the modules and machines you need it for and we will say honestly whether we can source it.

Which modules does a seat include?

Ask before you buy. PEPS is assembled from modules for wire, turning and milling, and two seats with the same name can do different work. We confirm exactly what a seat carries, in writing, before you pay anything.

What about post processors for my machines?

A post processor is matched to a specific machine and control, so a transferred seat arrives with whatever the previous owner had. Tell us which machines you run and we will check what comes with the licence before you commit.

Is a transferred licence legally valid?

Yes. Perpetual software licences may be lawfully resold within the EU once distribution rights are exhausted, under ECJ Case C-128/11 and Directive 2009/24/EC Article 4(2). Every transfer we complete follows publisher terms, the previous owner ceases use, and you receive the documentation.

Do I get an invoice and transfer documentation?

Yes. You receive a proper invoice and the full transfer documentation. All prices are net, this is a B2B shop.

Tell us what you cut

Which machines, which controls, and whether the seat has to turn and mill as well as erode. You'll get an answer from someone who uses this software, not a sales script.
