Autodesk perpetual licences you own

AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit and the Design Suites, transferred under Autodesk's own terms and registered in your name. Autodesk stopped selling these in 2016. Buying an existing one is the only route left.

The range

What we supply

A twisting high-rise structure drawn as a wireframe and solid model

AutoCAD

Nine perpetual releases, from AutoCAD 2012 through 2021. The drawing format changed at 2013 and again at 2018, so the release you need is usually decided by the newest DWG anyone sends you rather than by features. AutoCAD 2020 is the most common choice.

Perpetual
A two-dimensional technical drawing produced in AutoCAD LT

AutoCAD LT

Seven releases, 2012 to 2022. LT draws and documents in 2D and opens the same DWG files as full AutoCAD. It has no 3D modelling and no API, so it suits drawing production rather than development. For teams that never leave 2D it does the same work for roughly half the price.

Perpetual
A process plant layout modelled with piping and structural steel

Architecture, Mechanical, MEP and Plant 3D

The discipline versions of AutoCAD, with the object styles and schedules each trade works from. Architecture runs 2014 to 2021, Mechanical 2014 to 2020, MEP 2017 and 2019, and Plant 3D 2018 and 2019. Fourteen licences across the four.

Perpetual
A mechanical product assembly shown as an exploded CAD model

Inventor and the Design Suites

Parametric mechanical design with Inventor, in six releases from 2014 to 2021. The Product Design Suite bundles Inventor with AutoCAD, Mechanical, 3ds Max and Navisworks in one perpetual licence, which is usually the cheaper route if you need more than one of them. Factory Design Suite adds layout and material flow.

Perpetual
A complex building envelope modelled as surfaces and structure

Revit and Building Design Suite

BIM for architecture, structure and building services. Revit 2016 and Revit LT Suite stand alone, while Building Design Suite runs 2016 to 2021 and carries Revit, AutoCAD Architecture, MEP, Structural Detailing and Navisworks together. Six licences in total.

Perpetual
A photorealistic render produced from a CAD model

3ds Max, Vault and Showcase

Visualisation and data management around the design work. 3ds Max covers rendering and animation in four releases, Vault handles version control and release states across six, and Showcase builds presentation scenes. Vault starts at €116, which makes it the least expensive way onto a perpetual Autodesk licence.

The process

How an Autodesk licence transfer works

The same four steps every time.

1

Share details

Product, release year and how many seats. Tell us which DWG version your clients send if you are unsure.

2

We check

Serial number, eligibility and the previous owner's paperwork, before you pay anything.

3

We transfer

Reassigned under Autodesk's transfer terms. The previous owner deactivates and ceases use.

4

Complete

The licence sits in your own Autodesk account. Keep the documentation for audits.

FAQ

Autodesk questions

Can I still buy a new perpetual Autodesk licence from Autodesk?

No. Autodesk stopped selling perpetual licences for individual products in February 2016, and for its Suites in 2021. New from Autodesk means a subscription. An existing perpetual licence, transferred to you, is the only remaining route to owning AutoCAD, Inventor or Revit outright.

Which AutoCAD version do I actually need?

AutoCAD opens drawings from its own release and older, never newer. Buy at least the newest release your clients and subcontractors send you. If you receive 2019 files, a 2018 licence cannot open them.

What is the difference between AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT?

LT is 2D drafting only. Full AutoCAD adds 3D modelling, rendering and the API used for add-ons and automation. For pure 2D drawing production LT does the same job for roughly half the price.

Is a transferred Autodesk licence registered with Autodesk?

Yes. The licence is reassigned under Autodesk's own transfer terms and ends up in your name, not ours. You receive the documentation that an audit asks for.

Do I get an invoice and transfer documentation?

Yes. You receive a proper invoice and the full transfer documentation. All prices are net, this is a B2B shop.

Not sure which version you need?

Tell us what you run and what your clients send you. You'll get an answer from someone who uses this software, not a sales script.
