What's New in Vectorworks Architect 2024

Vectorworks Architect 2024 introduced a modernized interface alongside two entirely new parametric object families: cabinetry and railings, plus deeper control over doors, windows, and materials.

• Parametric cabinetry & railings: Brand-new 3D parametric cabinet objects and a fully redefined railing/guardrail tool (associable with stairs, slabs, and ramps) replace older, less flexible object types.
• Wall component returns: Wall closures at openings can now be configured and saved as named, reusable settings tied to specific wall types, and applied individually per door or window.
• Door & window handedness widget: Handedness can be changed directly at the object under the cursor instead of through a modal dialog, and doors/windows now support proper material assignment with added texture control for walls, slabs, and roofs.
• Modernized interface: Reorganized View and Mode bars provide quicker access to frequently used tools, and new Viewport Styles let saved viewport settings be reused and transferred instantly.
• Structural members: New style versus instance-based parameter controls, plus improved auto-join behavior, give more precise control over 2D/3D attributes, material, and shape.
• Interoperability: Cross-platform Excel referencing keeps native worksheets and external spreadsheets in sync in both directions; DWG import/export was optimized to reduce file clean-up.
